RCI Leads the Debate at 2010 Arabian Hotel Investment Conference (AHIC)

The leader in holiday exchange meets with other successful holiday ownership companies

Friday 14th May 2010

RCI, the global holiday exchange company and part of the Wyndham Worldwide family, partnered with Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) and Bench Events who were the organizers of the AHIC, to host the 2010 Middle East Shared Ownership Summit.
Shared Ownership refers to various products including Timeshare, fractional ownership, private and destination clubs. Holiday ownership is well established in countries like Egypt, with a huge potential for Timeshare and fractional ownership in Dubai and other Arabian Gulf destinations.
The half-day Summit was a part of the AHIC programme which took place from 1st to 3rd May at the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE.
Some of the most successful regional and global holiday ownership companies participated, sharing best practices and providing industry updates.
"The Shared Ownership Summit offers hospitality companies and mixed-use developers an efficient forum in which to better understand the immediate benefits and long-term value that vacation ownership can infuse in their overall business strategy," said Jeff Tisdall, managing director, RCI MENA. "We are encouraged by the continued strong interest international vacation ownership companies are expressing in the Dubai market."
Those attending the summit received a copy of the 2010 Shared Ownership Study offering an insight into important global and regional industry updates and issues. They were also able to attend three panel discussions including whether now is the right time to launch Shared Ownership as part of a business strategy. There were also various sales and marketing insights in a second panel discussion, whilst the third panel was specific to the luxury market segment, particularly looking at how luxury brands can release value from real estate products in the future.
"This is a very timely discussion as the Middle East and North Africa region has seen significant innovations in the luxury segment," said Gregg Anderson, Vice President of The Registry Collection program. "This is a great opportunity for firms to consider how they will position themselves to capture new opportunities in the future."
