With the change to the Disney Timeshare points system, more points are now needed for weekday stays and fewer are required for weekend visits. Beforehand, the number of points needed for a weekend stay was around twice that of a weekday stay.

Timeshare companies can reallocate points providing the overall number is the same - which is permitted by Florida State law. Members of Disney Vacation Club can opt to visit its various resorts all over the globe, in addition to over 500 destinations worldwide.
Club members are also able to tailor make the type of trip they wish to take - from a skiing weekend to a family break in Latin America or Europe.
Further member benefits include discounts on various selected dining and entertainment experiences - as well as yearly passes at some theme parks at Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.
