Hotels, the Future of Timeshare?

New approach for hotel owners

Friday 16th July 2010

As most in the holiday industry would agree, the last 18 months have been somewhat challenging as tourists tighten their belts by cutting back on the amount they spend on holidays and travel.
Nonetheless, industry experts who gathered at the Meet the Money conference in Los Angeles discussed how a new approach to Timeshare and hotel development could ring some important changes to the industry. Panellists at the conference discussed how converting hotel suites into high-end Timeshare and Fractional Ownership properties could create a prosperous future for the holiday industry.
President of the Lore Institute of Shared Ownership said, "It's a very healthy environment to monetise hotel rooms into Fractional Ownership at the high end, or into Timeshare at the lower end. From a hotel perspective, it's an outstanding way to monetise your hotel rooms."
A significant number of hotels find that they have guests who return to the same hotel, or group of hotels, time and time again. This is exactly the type of guest who would be able to see the long term financial benefits of Timeshare. With mixed-use development, hotels would be in the position to offer these guests so many more options than before in addition to catering for new guests solely interested in Timeshare.
