Stranded Flight Passengers Receive Help from Timeshare Resorts
Monday 26th April 2010
Holidaymakers stranded as a result of the recent volcano eruption in Iceland have received round-the-clock support from RDO* member resorts.
Although European airports are once again open, there is still a major backlog of flights and travellers will continue to face further delays.

Timeshare Resorts which are members of RDO (Resort Development Organisation) have worked non-stop to provide stranded guests with emergency accommodation and help them return to their homes as soon as possible.
Families with school age children have found themselves taking an extended Easter break in sunnier countries such as Spain, the Canary Islands and Portugal, with children missing the start of the new summer term.
Many Timeshare resorts have assisted with revised travel arrangements and provided accommodation for guests unable to return to their homes. They have also provided free Internet access so guests can keep in touch with their families at home and keep up to date with the latest airline news.
A number of resorts have allowed holidaymakers to continue their stay at no extra charge. For example, Seasons Holidays, Gala Resorts in Norway, Paradise Kings Club in Cyprus, Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels, Resort Properties and Pearly Grey. Petchey Leisure Group, Pestana Resorts, Anfi Group and Hilton Grand Vacation Club in Portugal are offering a discount on a continued stay and other resorts heavily discounted menus in their restaurants.
The Chairman of RDO, Richard McIntosh stated "Our member resorts have shown tremendous goodwill by helping out during this extraordinary crisis, not only ensuring Timeshare owners are well looked after, but also doing all they can to get them home by coach or ferry services where at all possible."
